About Andersson Forge | Billy Andersson - Artist Blacksmith - Oxfordshire

Forging is an ancient dialogue between fire, metal, and vision — and at Andersson Forge, that dialogue guides everything we create. Each piece is shaped with the intention, patience, and respect that true blacksmithing demands, from the first spark of an idea to the final moment it’s installed in its place.

Founder and blacksmith Billy Andersson grew up in southern Sweden, where a fascination with craft led him first to study goldsmithing, then to pursue a BA in Blacksmithing at Mitt University. After completing his Journeyman test, his curiosity about the artistic potential of metal carried him to Steneby School, Gothenburg University, where he earned an MA in Fine Art Metal.

Upon relocating to the UK in 2018, Billy established his forge in the quiet landscape of Oxfordshire, bringing with him a Scandinavian sensibility: clean lines, thoughtful design, and a deep respect for materials. His experience extends to casting, fabrication, and renovation of historic wrought ironwork.

With over 15 years of blacksmithing experience, you can trust that your project will be tailored to your requirements with the upmost care and attention to detail. Billy takes on commissions of any scale — sculptural, functional, architectural — with the belief that forged metal should be both lasting and meaningful.

As an artist blacksmith, Billy continues to explore his artistic practice, having exhibited widely in Sweden and the UK, examples of his artwork can be found here.
